Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet thickness detector and a sheet handier capable of discriminating normal sheets with bend and turnup from abnormal sheets with foreign matter such as tape adhered thereto. SOLUTION: To discriminate the normal sheets with bend and turnup from the abnormal sheets with foreign matter such as tape adhered thereto, instead of detecting the thickness of the entire surfaces of the sheets, the thickness of the sheets is not measured in a district ranging from the end part to the specified position thereof or, even if detected, not used for the detection of the thickness. Thus, an erroneous detection can be lowered to prevent a rejection rate from increasing.
