To provide an electrode interface protection film forming agent minimizing the decomposition of an electrolyte, reducing a decrease in initial discharge capacity caused by film formation for obtaining a high capacity of a lithium secondary battery, and forming an electrode interface protection film keeping high initial charge discharge efficiency, and to provide the lithium secondary battery having a negative electrode containing the electrode interface protection film forming agent.

The electrode interface protection film forming agent for the lithium secondary battery is made of a compound represented by a general formula (1). In the formula, R1shows an m-valent hydrocarbon group, R2shows an n-valent hydrocarbon group, x is 1 or 2; and n and m independently show integers of 1-4. The lithium secondary battery has the negative electrode and a positive electrode capable of storing and releasing lithium ions, and the electrode interface protection film forming agent is contained in the negative electrode.
