Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery of high reliability even if keep on a shelf at a high temperature by including a compound with an ethylene skeleton or a compound with biphenylene in a nonaqueous electrolyte in the battery comprising a lithium-containing oxide as a positive electrode material and a lithium storable/releasable material as a negative electrode. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is constituted by adding an organic compound expressed by formula I or II, to an electrolyte. In formula I, R1-R4 are each H (3 or less), an aryl group or an aryl group with an electron attractive substituent. In formula II, n=0-2. The compound expressed by formula I is preferably 1,2-diphenylethylene, cis-stilbene, trans- stilbene, triphenylethylene, tetraphenylethylene or p-fluoro-cis-stilbene, and the compound expressed by formula II is preferably biphenylene or 9,10- dihydrophenanthrene and included at 0.1-20 wt.% in the total weight of the electrolyte. The decomposing oxidation resistance of the electrolyte is improved.
