Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory material which makes a higher density possible and is good in recording sensitivity at low energy. SOLUTION: This memory member consists of at least first and second material layers and records information by exerting the energy from outside thereto, thereby changing optical characteristics. The first material layer contains at least oxygen atoms as ingredients or contains sulfur, selenium and tellurium as ingredients and the second material layer consists of laminated layers of at least two kinds and at least one kind of these metals is metal having a melting point below 300 deg.C.
