Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the energy needed in separating CO2 in a concentration cell. SOLUTION: Both sides of an electrolyte plate 1 are held by an cathode 2 and an anode 3 to constitute a concentration cell 4 which is used. A potential is applied between the cathode 2 and an anode 3, and a raw gas 5 is supplied to the cathode 2 to form carbonate ion. The carbonate ion is migrated toward the anode 3, and a dilution gas 11 is added to the anode 3, when carbon dioxide is selectively separated on the anode 3 side. The separated gas 6 and the dilution gas 11 are simultaneously introduced into a separator 16 outside the cell to separate and remove the dilution gas 11.
