Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor that requires only a small quantity of power, accordingly, only a small quantity of running cost. SOLUTION: This image sensor is provided with a substrate 4, a light source 4 formed on the substrate 4 and for emitting light to an object P to be read, and a plurality of photodetectors 31a for receiving reflected light from the object P to be read and also arranged in a column shape in a horizontal scanning direction and adopts the light source 4 which has a light emitting layer including an organic matter and emits light as an organic matter with electroluminescence when an electric field is given. The light source 4 is optimally configured to extend in a horizontal scanning direction (1) or to have one or a plurality of linear light emitting parts.
