To efficiently implement a process for updating a plurality of pieces of firmware while avoiding unnecessary rebooting.

This image forming apparatus (1), which has an interface means (9) capable of communicating with an information processor that supplies update firmware, includes a storage means (2) for storing a plurality of pieces of firmware and a control means (10) for sequentially storing in the storage means the pieces of update firmware transferred from the information processor and for implementing the process for updating the firmware. When a plurality of pieces of update firmware are transferred from the information processor, the control means performs rebooting for the validation of the updating process after all the pieces of update firmware have been stored in the storage means.
