To provide a solid-state image pickup apparatus and a solid-state imaging element capable of sampling signal electronic charges from pixels with higher position accuracy so as to predict pixel production with high accuracy.
In the solid-state imaging element 12c provided to an imaging section 12 used for a digital camera 10, light receiving elements 120 are placed with pixel shift nearly at a half pitch each, resulting in forming vertical transfer registers 122, 122 comprising two columns as a set between the light receiving elements 120 in a row direction in a meandering manner, the vertical transfer registers 122 that are shaded and the vertical transfer registers 122 with an incident hole 124 formed to them are regularly formed, and the shaded vertical transfer registers 122 are arranged by taking notice of color arrangement patterns of color filter segments R, G, B covering the light receiving elements 120 adjacent to the vertical transfer registers 122 so that image data obtained by horizontal thinning have the same relation as the color arrangement patterns.
