Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PTC planar heating element capable of rapidly sensing abnormal temperature rise and completely cutting off an electric circuit. SOLUTION: This PTC planar heating element with a fuse function has a heating layer with a PTC property on a sheet-like base body, and one face or both faces of the heating layer are provided with thermally expansive layers containing thermally expansive spherical bodies or a pyrolytic compound. The thermally expansive layer is composed of the spherical bodies of 5-50 μm in average grain diameter, thermally expanded at 100 deg.C or higher, or the pyrolytic compound thermally decomposed at 100 deg.C or higher to generate gas, and a water-soluble binder resin.
