Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display unit for a vehicle capable of eliminating anxiety of an occupant for making the occupant concentrated on driving. SOLUTION: In detection of the fact that a vehicle is in an automatic cruise condition, a meter lighting control unit 51 outputs a control signal to respective lighting parts 55, 57, 59 and 63 so that luminances of the lighting parts 55, 57, 59, and 63 are lowered below ordinary ones. In the lighting parts 55, 57, 59, and 63, the luminances are lowered below the ordinary ones according to the control signal from the meter lighting control unit 51, and lighting is dimmed in a tachometer 5, a fuel amount meter 7, an engine water temperature meter 9, and a vehicle information display part 13. On the other hand, the meter lighting control unit 51 outputs a control signal to the respective lighting parts 53 and 61 so that their luminances become the ordinary ones. In the lighting parts 53 and 61, the ordinary luminances are recovered according to the control signal from the meter lighting control unit 51, and light emitting conditions of the speed meter 3 and a trip odometer 11 become ordinary ones.
