To update software to the latest version easily according to the type of a mobile communication terminal.

The software update interface for updating software by downloading it from a server 200 to the mobile communication terminal 100 comprises: a memory device portion 114 of the server which stores the software, the latest version of the software, the level of importance of the software, and the time required for updating by the type of mobile communication terminals; a software management portion 115 of the server which fetches the type of the terminal and the information about the latest version of the software upon inquiry from the mobile communication terminal and responds to the mobile communication terminal from the server and sends the type of the mobile communication terminal, the information about the latest version of the software, and the level of importance of the software, and the time required for updating of the software to the mobile communication terminal upon request for these data and then downloads the latest version of the software to the mobile communication terminal; a memory device portion 106 of the mobile communication terminal which stores the software, version information, and information about the type of the mobile communication terminal; and a software management portion 105 of the mobile communication terminal which displays the version information on an information display portion 102, and then sends inquiries to the server about the latest version information on the software with respect to the information about the type of the mobile communication terminal, and sends the request for updating and its decision to update the software to the server to download the software from the server.
