To provide an on-vehicle detector of other vehicles capable of reliably detecting other vehicles as other vehicles regardless of distance to other vehicles, size of an opposing area, and the like, when detecting other vehicles by a radar.
The on-vehicle detector of other vehicles comprises an imaging means; a radar means for performing scanning/transmission of a signal toward the imaging direction and detecting other vehicles, based on the comparison processing between the intensity of reflection waves to the signal and a set threshold; a means for displaying a captured image acquired by the imaging means on a screen; an inputting means; and a control means operably connected to each means. In the on-vehicle detector for other vehicles, when a user instruction based on the visual recognition of other vehicles is received from the input means (S6), the threshold is lowered and comparison processing is performed (S8) by the radar means. When other vehicles are detected (S9), other vehicles are highlighted on the captured image corresponding to other detected vehicles (S10).
