Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidized fiber sheet capable of producing a carbon fiber sheet having high bulk density, moderate flexibility, and low electrical resistance in the thickness direction, a compressed oxidized fiber sheet by compression treatment of the oxidized sheet, respective methods for producing the oxidized sheet and compressed oxidized sheet, and a method for producing a carbon fiber sheet. SOLUTION: This oxidized fiber sheet is a sheet made of a polyacrylonitrile- based oxidized fiber having a density of 1.36-1.44 g/cm3, knot tenacity of 0.5-1.8 g/dtex, knot elongation of >=5%, and core proportion of 33-70%. The 2nd compressed oxidized fiber sheet is obtained by making 0.2-10.0 mass% of a resin adhere to the oxidized fiber sheet followed by making a compression treatment in the thickness direction at 150-300 deg.C under a pressure of 10-100 MPa. The carbon fiber sheet with the X-ray crystallite size of the carbon fiber being 1.3-3.5 nm is obtained by heat treatment of the compressed oxidized fiber sheet in an inert gas atmosphere.
