Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the thickness, restructuring pitch, position of the cross section, etc., of a cross-sectional image in realtime according to the purpose of diagnosis based on a three-dimensional original image. SOLUTION: When the restructuring pitch, position of the cross section, display thickness, or the like, of a required cross-sectional image are inputted (Steps 3, 4 and 5), a cross-sectional image is selected from three-dimensional original images made of layered plural tomograms based on the inputted conditions (Step 7). Then, if plural slices of the cross-sectional images are selected, one slice of the cross-sectional image is produced based on the plural slices of the cross-sectional images (Steps 8 and 9). Therefore, the process of selecting a cross-sectional image corresponding to the restructuring pitch, position of the cross section and thickness inputted from the three-dimensional original image and the process of producing one slice of the cross-sectional image from plural slices of the sectional images are simple, so that the restructuring pitch or thickness of a cross-sectional image can be changed in realtime.
