To provide an electronic camera that enables a user who has small knowledge to perform trimming through easy operation.

Provided are an imaging means of generating an image by picking up a subject image, a display means of displaying the image generated by the imaging means, an operation part for selecting magnification or reduction of the image, an accepting means of accepting a choice made by the operation part, an altering means of magnifying or reducing the image by a display means to display the image on the display means when the accepting means accepts the magnification or reduction of the image, and a trimming means of trimming a range of the image displayed by the display means after the alteration by the altering means simultaneously with resolution conversion to specified resolution.
