To further save power consumption in an information processing apparatus for autonomously controlling power consumption.
The information processing apparatus 1 is restored from a power-saving state to a normal operation state so as to perform processing only when the operation is required with the power-saving state as a basis in each function part. When the operation is required, a CPU 10 is operated by a recording mode. As shown in Figure 8, even when the processing is performed in another function part, the CPU 10 is made to be in the power-saving state in response to the termination of issuing an instruction concerning the required operation. Consequently, a time for allowing the CPU 10 with large power consumption to be operated in the normal power consumption state is shortened, so that power consumption is further saved compared with the information processing apparatus to which conventional power-saving technique is applied.
