The method involves having a hybrid drive (10) of a vehicle with an internal combustion engine (14) and an electric drive (18) which has assigned traction battery (20). The internal combustion engine can be started from the operating mode "pure electrical driving" (120) of the hybrid drive by means of a starterless direct start. An independent claim is included for a hybrid drive.
