To provide a fuel cell system capable of accurately correctly obtaining a moisture variation amount in a fuel cell stack.
In the fuel cell system 10, a control part 48 calculates the moisture variation amount in the fuel cell stack as a difference between a produced water amount and an exhaust water vapor amount. The produced water amount is calculated based on a measured result of current flowing from the fuel cell stack to a load with an ammeter 46. A consumed oxygen amount and a consumed hydrogen amount are calculated based on a measured result with the ammeter 46. Exhaust water vapor amounts on an anode side and a cathode side are calculated based on the consumed oxygen amount, the consumed hydrogen amount, and measured results with flow meters 30-96. A budget of moisture amount which is the moisture variation amount is calculated based on the produced water amount and the exhaust water vapor amount.
