Abstract:
Provided is the use of a stem cell having an angiogenetic ability or an angiogenetic cell (an endothelial cell or a smooth muscle cell) treated with a factor regulating the expression of a calponin gene or the activity of calponin for treating a disease associated with angiogenesis. Further provided is a method of treating a disease associated with angiogenesis, characterized by treating a stem cell having an angiogenetic ability or an angiogenetic cell obtained from a patient who needs to be treated for a disease associated with angiogenesis with a factor regulating the expression of a calponin gene or the activity of calponin and returning the stem cell having an angiogenetic ability or the angiogenetic cell treated with the factor to the patient. Further provided is the stem cell having an angiogenetic ability or the angiogenetic cell treated with a factor regulating the expression of a calponin gene or the activity of calponin.
