To obtain a microporous polyolefin film that is hardly deformed and has excellent film breaking resistance and stress relaxation characteristics without lowering characteristics of a conventional microporous polyolefin film.
The microporous polyolefin film having 200,000-1,000,000 viscosity-average molecular weight (Mv) and a molecular weight distribution index Mw/Mn of 7-100 is characterized by comprising a polyethylene (PEA) with ≥100,000 and <400,000 Mv and a polyethylene (PEB) with ≥400,000 and ≤10,000,000 Mv as essential components and by having ≥10% and <50% porosity, 50-300MPa tensile strength of MD and TD, 100-600MPa total of tensile strength of MD and tensile strength of TD, 10-200% tensile elongation of MD and TD and 20-250% total of tensile elongation of MD and tensile elongation of TD.
