Abstract:
To shorten a time needed for deciding presence or absence of a response to a command in operation and a response to a command in monitoring the leaving from a communication area.
A reader-writer 1 determines whether or not the response from a non-contact IC card 10 has been received after the time point of transmission of a command, and decides a communication time-out time for determining the presence or absence of the response on the basis of a distribution tendency of response time periods from the time point of the transmission of the command up to the time point of the reception of the response from the IC card 10.
