To achieve a pixel mixing function and to easily execute setting and changes in design of a group of pixels to be mixed.
An effective pixel area of a solid state image sensor is divided into pixel blocks 40 which are arranged like a matrix. Each pixel block 40 is composed of a plurality of pixels 20 arrayed to one column in a vertical direction. Each pixel 20 includes a photodiode 51, a floating diffusion 54, a transfer transistor 55, a pixel amplifier 58, a reset switch 59, and a selection transistor 60. Further, each pixel 20 has a first switch 61 arranged between a first end portion (a) of the reset switch 59 and a power supply part Vdd. In each pixel block 40, the first end portions (a) of respective pixels 20 in the pixel block 40 are directly electrically connected to each other by a pixel mixing connection wire 36.
