To appropriately determine operation failure of check valves for controlling fuel gas supplied to an auxiliary chamber, in an engine wherein a combustion chamber is constructed of a main chamber and the auxiliary chamber.
Two parallel flow passages 31 are formed in parallel with an auxiliary fuel supply passage SL for supplying the fuel gas to the auxiliary chamber 10S and the check valves CV are provided for these parallel flow passages 31. The engine includes a flow passage pressure sensor Ps for measuring a pressure at an upstream side of the check valve CV, a pressure determining circuit 45 and an operation control means 41 for determining operational failure of one of the check valves CV from difference between measured values of the two flow passage pressure sensors Ps, and an alarm output circuit 48 for outputting an alarm to an output part 47 when an operational failure is determined.
