Abstract:

To enable switching to drive by an electric motor when an ammonia adsorption amount is reduced.

An NOx selective reduction catalyst 15 is disposed in an engine exhaust passage and a urea water supply valve 17 is disposed in the engine exhaust passage on the upstream side of the NOx selective reduction catalyst 15 to reduce the NOx in the exhaust gas by the ammonia adsorbed by the NOx selective reduction catalyst 15. When the amount of ammonia adsorbed to the NOx selective reduction catalyst 15 is lowered to an allowable limit amount, the drive of a vehicle by an engine is switched to the drive of the vehicle by the electric motor 30.
