Abstract:

To provide a metal-supported carbon catalyst that is preferable for a method for decomposing and removing a volatile organic compound in a gas and is more highly active than a Ni-supported porous carbon catalyst.

The method for manufacturing a metal-supported porous carbon catalyst includes a step that performs hydrothermal treatment on a metal-supported carbon in water under the conditions of 250°C or higher and 15 MPa or higher. The preferable example includes a step that supports a metal component in an ion-exchange resin and a step that carbonizes the ion-exchange resin supporting the metal component as the manufacturing steps of the metal-supported carbon.
