Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which a long time is required to a polymerization reaction when a ring-opening polymerization monomer of lactide or the like is polymerized by using an organic catalyst such as 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) that does not contain a metal atom as a catalyst by using a compressible fluid such as supercritical carbon dioxide as a solvent.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a polymer includes a polymerization process in which a ring-opening polymerizable monomer and a compressible fluid at least are continuously contacted, and the ring-opening polymerizable monomer is performed by ring-opening polymerization under the existence of an organic catalyst that does not contain a metal atom. Thereby, there is an effect in which a required time for a polymerization reaction can be shortened comparing with a case in which a ring-opening polymerizable monomer is performed by ring-opening polymerization without using a metal catalyst by a past manufacturing method.
