To reduce the cost and the size of a stereoscopic image forming apparatus, obtaining a stereoscopic image having parallax of an object, using a simple constitution.
A stereo image forming apparatus 1 includes a single camera 10 and a single reflecting mirror 20, where the reflecting mirror 20 is disposed along the optical axis L direction on one of both sides of the optical axis L for intercepting a part of a visual field in a photographic area of the camera 10. By the reflecting mirror 20, an object image having parallax to an object, which is photographed directly by the camera 10, is reflected and imaged in a partial area of the photographed image by the camera 10, thereby a real image 41 and a reflected image 42 of the same object for obtaining a stereoscopic image are photographed simultaneously. The reflected image 42 is a laterally inverted image, which is equal to that photographed in a position of an image camera 10' reflected on the reflecting mirror 20 by the camera 10, and which is an image having parallax, according to the base line B with respect to the real image 41.
