Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress such a state in which a fuel pump is controlled while using an abnormal pulse signal as it is with noise superposed or the like, in a fuel pump control system outputting a pulse signal representing the drive duty/drive frequency of the fuel pump from an engine control unit to a fuel pump control unit.SOLUTION: In this engine control unit, the drive duty is converted into an instructing duty within an intermediate area excluding at least 0% and 100%, and the drive frequency is converted into a lower instructing frequency and output toward the fuel pump control unit. In the fuel pump control unit, the duty of the pulse signal is converted into the command value of the drive duty, the frequency of the pulse signal is converted into the drive frequency, and drive output is determined based on these drive duty and drive frequency; meanwhile, the presence or absence of the abnormality of the pulse signal is diagnosed based on the duty and frequency of the pulse signal. When occurrence of the abnormality is diagnosed, the drive output is changed over to drive output for a fail.
