To improve the cycle characteristics of an anode for a nonaqueous electrolyte system secondary battery, having a 3-dimensionally-ordered microporous structure (3DOM structure).
A micro domain structured (a plurality of minute island-shaped) anode for a nonaqueous electrolyte system secondary battery is arranged, by forming a plurality of each-independent minute voids on a photoresist film on a conductive substrate; and after filling the voids on the photoresist film with very fine particles of polystyrene or the like, plating them with metal which can make alloy with lithium, and then removing the very fine particles and the photoresist film by dissolving. The island-shaped electrode is, preferably, in a range of 10-50 μm in height, 10-30 μm in size, 1-50 μm in the width between the island-shaped electrodes, 50-80% in porosity and, of a columnar shape.
