To provide an e-mail holding system for preventing erroneous operation of an e-mail sender or malicious information leakage, by holding e-mail for a predetermined time before transmission and first transmitting the e-mail, without holding it, to a transmission destination, such as the inside of an organization, where it does not become information leakage.
In an e-mail holding system where internal clients 1a, 1b are freely communicably connected to a mail server 4 via a mail holding server 2 that freely holds mail for a predetermined time, the mail holding server 2 includes: a means for storing in a holding mail DB 31 a holding mail record obtained by adding a holding start time to holding mail having a transmission destination to be held when mail is received from the internal client 1a, 1b; a means for transmitting the holding mail to the mail server 4 when the holding time of the holding mail record stored in the holding mail DB 31 expires when activated; and a means for deleting the transmitted holding mail record from the holding mail DB 31, or the like.
