To prevent reverse transfer of a black toner image due to discharge in secondary transfer of a color image, in an image forming device including an independent monochrome image unit that facilitates recycling of black toner.
The image forming device includes: an intermediate transfer body on which a toner image is multi-transferred; a plurality of color image forming units disposed in parallel on the periphery of the image transfer body and forming toner images different in color on the inter mediate transfer body; a secondary transfer device which transfers composite color image on the intermediate transfer body to a recording medium; and a monochrome image forming unit which transfers to the recording medium the black toner image provided upstream of the recording medium conveyance path from the secondary transfer device. The image forming device further includes a re-charging means charging the black toner downstream of the recording medium conveyance path from the transfer position of the monochrome image forming unit and upstream of the recording medium conveyance path of the secondary transfer position by a secondary transfer device.
