Abstract:

To provide a tire with a lug, having improved durability by preventing generation of a belt end separation, and satisfying various belt performance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the tire with the lug.

The tire has, sequentially on the radially outer side of a crown part of a carcass toroidally spreading between a pair of beads: at least one belt layer, in which cords extending obliquely to the equatorial surface of the tire are covered with rubber; and a tread having a plurality of lugs each extending from the equatorial surface of the tire to the tread end, while the lugs are arranged spaced apart from each other in the circumferential direction of the tread. In the method of manufacturing the tire, the end of the belt layer in the widthwise direction of the tire is covered with a protective layer in which the cords each extending at an angle of 85 to 95° degrees to the extending direction of a recess of a mold for molding the lugs are covered with the rubber, followed by vulcanization molding.
