Abstract:
To newly provide a means for industrial hydroxylation of an aromatic ring by a biological means by finding a new aromatic-ring-hydroxylase composed of a simple protein with a single polypeptide chain and a gene of the enzyme.
A gene encoding an aromatic-ring-hydroxylase is collected from an environmental DNA and an aromatic-ring-hydroxylase is obtained by a genetic engineering means using the gene. The aromatic-ring-hydroxylase is composed of a single polypeptide and easily and efficiently performs the hydroxylation of an aromatic ring.
