To provide a method for detecting malignant pleural mesothelioma.
This method for detecting the malignant pleural mesothelioma or measuring the prognosis of a subject suffered from the malignant pleural mesothelioma includes, in the biological sample from the subject, comprising a detection of the methylation or the degree of methylation of at least one gene selected from the group consisting of TMEM30B gene, KAZALD1 gene and MAPK13 gene, and deciding as the subject to suffer from the malignant pleural mesothelioma when the gene is methylated, or the method for determining that when the degree of the methylation of the gene is lower as compared with that of the subject having inferior prognosis, the prognosis of the disease is good, and a kit used for these methods is also provided.
