Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a female member for couplings which is appropriate for couplings of large-diameter-opening pipes, and exhibits excellent moldability, cracking resistance and sealing properties. The present invention is a female member for couplings which has a tube body having a cylindrical through-hole, a ring-shaped, inward-facing collar section projecting inward in the radial direction from the inner-circumferential surface of the tube body at one end of the through-hole, and a female-screw section positioned on the inner-circumferential surface of the tube body. The thickness of the tube body in the radial direction thereof is 5-20mm, the thickness of the inward-facing collar section in the axial direction thereof is 5-20mm, and the diameter of the through-hole formed by the inward-facing collar section is 40mm or more. Furthermore, the female member for couplings comprises a fluorine-containing polymer having a polymer unit based on tetrafluoroethylene and a polymer unit based on one or more types of perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether), wherein the fluorine-containing polymer contains 3.0-7.0 mass% of the polymer unit based on the perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) in relation to all polymer units, and has a melt-flow rate of 4.5-15.0g/10 minutes.
