To provide a new saccharification promotor for promoting the saccharification of a biomass with a cellulase, a saccharification-treating agent, and a method for saccharification-treating the biomass by using the same.
The culturing supernatant of microbial cells expressing at least one of xynR gene and fae gene is used as the saccharification promotor for promoting the saccharification treatment of the biomass with the cellulase. By treating the biomass with the cellulase in the co-presence of the saccharification promotor containing the culturing supernatant, it is possible to reduce cellulose and hemicellulose contents contained in the biomass less than those of the saccharification treatment with the cellulase singly, and promote the saccharification.
