Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a sodium secondary battery having a working voltage of 4 V or more and excellent in cycle life; and a method for manufacturing a negative electrode for a sodium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: A sealed sodium secondary battery includes: a positive electrode which has a carbon-based positive electrode active material capable of adsorbing and desorbing anions; a negative electrode which has a negative electrode active material (Y) capable of adsorbing and desorbing sodium; and an electrolyte. In the sodium secondary battery, the negative electrode contains NaX[where, X represents one or more elements selected from among F, Cl, Br, I, O, S, Se and Te, α represents 1-2, and β represents 1-5] and a binder.
