Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery superior in battery characteristics, in which a metal oxide is used as a negative electrode active material.SOLUTION: In a lithium ion secondary battery, a negative electrode active material includes a metal oxide capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions; and an electrolyte contains a salt capable of producing cations of lithium and an organic solvent having a hetero element. Supposing that of the intensities of peaks from the organic solvent, the intensity of a peak originally coming from the organic solvent is "Io", and the intensity of a peak resulting from the shift of the original peak is "Is" in vibrational spectra of the electrolyte, the peak intensities "Io" and "Is" satisfy the following relation: Is>Io.
