Abstract:
Additive comprises: an aqueous colloidal dispersion composition of at least one water-soluble salt of a polyvalent metal cation; at least one compound capable of releasing an anion that forms a sparingly soluble salt with the polyvalent metal cation; and at least one polymeric dispersant comprising anionic and/or anionogenic groups and polyether side chains. The polyvalent metal cation comprises aluminum (Al 3+>), iron (Fe 3+>), iron (Fe 2+>), zinc (Zn 2+>), manganese (Mn 2+>), copper (Cu 2+>), magnesium (Mg 2+>), calcium (Ca 2+>), strontium (Sr 2+>), and/or barium (Ba 2+>). Additive comprises: an aqueous colloidal dispersion composition of at least one water-soluble salt of a polyvalent metal cation; at least one compound capable of releasing an anion that forms a sparingly soluble salt with the polyvalent metal cation; and at least one polymeric dispersant comprising anionic and/or anionogenic groups and polyether side chains. The polyvalent metal cation comprises aluminum (Al 3+>), iron (Fe 3+>), iron (Fe 2+>), zinc (Zn 2+>), manganese (Mn 2+>), copper (Cu 2+>), magnesium (Mg 2+>), calcium (Ca 2+>), strontium (Sr 2+>), and/or barium (Ba 2+>). The amount of the metal cation is 0-1 calculated by an equation as given in the specification. An independent claim is included for preparing the additive for hydraulically setting compositions, comprising precipitating the salt of the polyvalent metal cation in the presence of the polymeric dispersant to obtain a colloidal dispersion composition of the salt, or dispersing a freshly precipitated salt of the polyvalent metal cation in the presence of the polymeric dispersant to obtain the colloidal dispersion composition of the salt.
