Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately perform continuous extraction of a main subject region.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: an acquisition unit for sequentially acquiring a plurality of image data generated consecutively in terms of time; a region detection unit for calculating the feature amount of an image represented by the image data and detecting a subject region on the basis of the feature amount; a determination unit which compares subject regions detected in at least two of the images represented by the plurality of image data acquired by the acquisition unit, thereby determining whether the region detected by the region detection unit is stable; and a setting unit which, if the determination unit determines that the region is stable, sets the subject region which having undergone determination, as a main subject region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
