Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a line image detection unit and an image clipping unit. The line image detection unit detects a line image of a predetermined type contained in an image to be processed. The image clipping unit clips out a first surrounded region surrounded by the line image. The image clipping unit also clips out, when a line image that does not define the first surrounded region is present, a second surrounded region, surrounded by the line image and an imaginary line drawn between one end and the other of the line image, and generates a second clipped image. The image clipping unit superposes the respective imaginary lines of two second clipped images on each other, to thereby generate a composite image in which the two second clipped images are unified.
