Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate type gas sensor element that reduces internal cracking which may be caused when large stress is generated between an electrode and a solid electrolyte during burning of the laminate type gas sensor element and then the solid electrolyte is torn up as the solid electrolyte cannot withstand the stress.SOLUTION: A laminate type gas sensor element 211 formed by laminating a plurality of ceramic plate-like bodies including alumina plate-like bodies consisting principally of alumina comprises a gas detection part including a solid electrolyte cell consisting of a solid electrolyte part 320 consisting principally of zirconia and two electrodes 331, 332 provided on both sides thereof. At least at a part of a frame-shaped outer peripheral edge region along an outer peripheral edge of at least one electrode between the two electrodes, a porous buffer layer 341 or a buffer layer containing a zirconia component more than the alumina plate-like bodies is provided between the one electrode and the solid electrolyte part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
