Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hydrogen, in which hydrogen is produced efficiently from an ammonia-containing raw material gas by using a catalyst, and to provide the catalyst for hydrogen production.SOLUTION: The method for producing hydrogen comprises a step of bringing the ammonia-containing raw material gas into contact with the catalyst (X) which contains as constituent elements: one or more elements (A) selected from nickel, cobalt and iron; one or more elements (B) selected from strontium and barium; and one or more elements (C) selected from the lanthanide series, from which lanthanum and cerium are excluded. The contents of the one or more elements (B) are set within 0.1-15 mass% in terms of oxides thereof. The catalyst for hydrogen production is also provided.SELECTED DRAWING: None
