Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that improves fuel cost of a hybrid vehicle.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle 2 disclosed by the present specification comprises a motor 4 and an engine 3 for traveling. The hybrid vehicle 2 comprises: a controller 6 that controls drive and stop of the engine 3; and an inter-vehicle distance sensor 14 that measures a distance between the own vehicle and a vehicle ahead. The controller 6 inhibits stop of the engine 3 when a vehicle speed is equal to or higher than a predetermined vehicle speed threshold Vth, an inter-vehicle distance is equal to or shorter than a predetermined distance threshold Lmin, on/off switching of an accelerator is equal to or higher than the threshold Nth of a predetermined number of rotations during a predetermined time Tth, and the square average value Ims of electric current flowing in the motor 4 is equal to or higher than a predetermined electric current threshold value Ith.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
