Abstract:
Apparatus is described including a blood-pump catheter (20) that includes a first impeller (24U) and a second impeller (24D). A control unit (52) drives the first and second impellers (24U, 24D) to pump blood of a subject, by driving the first and second impellers (24U, 24D) to rotate. The first and second impellers (24U, 24D) are shaped differently from each other when the first and second impellers (24U, 24D) are in non-radially-constrained configurations, are sized differently from each other when the first and second impellers (24U, 24D) are in non-radially-constrained configurations, and/or are driven by the control unit (52) to rotate under respective rotation conditions that are different from each other. Other applications are also described.
