Abstract:
To provide an optical module capable of suppressing decrease in optical coupling efficiency between a core of an optical fiber and a plurality of light receiving/emitting parts.SOLUTION: An optical module comprises a photoelectric conversion element 20 having three or more light receiving/emitting parts 25A, 25B and 25C each having a light receiving/emitting surface receiving or emitting light, an optical fiber 30 having one end which extends along the light receiving/emitting surface in a longitudinal direction and placed to the photoelectric conversion element, and an optical transmission resin 41 covering each light receiving/emitting surface and the one end of the optical fiber and internally reflecting light in a predetermined area on the surface to optically couple a core of the optical fiber to each light receiving/emitting surface. On a cross section along each light receiving/emitting surface, the predetermined area of the optical transmission resin has a curve being convex on the opposite side to the optical fiber side and the optical fiber is arranged so that the light receiving/emitting part closest to the optical fiber overlaps a straight line passing through the center of the core and that at least two of other light receiving/emitting parts are positioned sandwiching the straight line when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the light receiving/emitting surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
