Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a currency processing device and a currency processing method capable of preventing a miscalculation from occurring and each constituent member from being broken even when an operator is not familiar with the operation since only a lock of the constituent member (for example, the constituent member in which an abnormality occurs) to be operated by the operator can be released.SOLUTION: A currency processing device (for example, a banknote change machine 10) includes: a status detection part 40 for detecting a status of the currency processing machine; determination means 44 for determining which lock is released from among the locks of the constituent member by each lock part (for example, lock parts 50, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, and 59) based on the status detected by the status detection part 40; and a control part (for example, a banknote change machine control part 60) for controlling each lock part so as to release the lock of the constituent member by one or a plurality of lock parts based on a determination result by the determination means 44.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
