Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of acquiring an appropriate amount of light volume even when two light sources are adjusted individually.SOLUTION: A scanner includes: a first light source; a second light source; a sensor for detecting the light obtained as the result of light from the first light source and light from the second light source hitting a document and reflecting thereon; and a controller for adjusting the first light source so that a value detected by the sensor approaches αK+βY, where α and β are values that are larger than 0 and smaller than 1 respectively, with the second light source not lighted when a target value is taken as Y and a dark-time current value as K with respect to the value detected by the sensor and for adjusting the second light source so that the value detected by the sensor approaches (1-α)K+(1-β)Y.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
