Abstract:
To accurately calculate an optimum value.SOLUTION: A frequency modulation light signal is received so that electric signals of an in-phase component and a quadrature component are outputted by subjecting the frequency modulation light signal to homodyne detection based on local oscillation light. The electric signals of the in-phase component and the quadrature component are each sampled so that they are converted into digital sampling signals of the in-phase component and the quadrature component. The sampling signals of the in-phase component and the quadrature component are subjected to differential detection. Then, a phase average value is calculated on the basis of a fixed pattern having a uniform or substantially uniform occurrence frequency of signal points included in the signals obtained by the differential detection. Based on the phase average value, the phases of the sampling signals of the in-phase component and the quadrature component are reversed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
