Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of inhibiting urea water from permeating a supporting member supporting a NOx catalyst and the NOx catalyst.SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device for the internal combustion engine includes an exhaust pipe 1 through which exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine is passed, a selective reduction type NOx catalyst 2 provided in the exhaust pipe 1 via a supporting member M, an addition valve 3 for adding urea water into the exhaust pipe 1 located on the upstream side of the NOx catalyst 2, and a first recessed part 4 provided for reserving the urea water in the lower face of the exhaust pipe 1 located between the addition valve 3 and the NOx catalyst 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
